Helen Kakkassery awarded first prize for her talk at the KCL School of Cancer and Pharmaceutical Sciences Postgraduate Research Symposium

Congratulations to Helen Kakkassery, PhD student in our lab for wining first prize at the 2025 King’s College London School of Cancer and Pharmaceutical Sciences Postgraduate Symposium!

Her talk titled “Immune Escape in Metastatic Breast Cancer” showcased her PhD research investigating the underlying mechanisms of immune escape during metastatic progression, with a focus on how tumour–immune crosstalk evolves across distinct anatomical compartments — including the primary tumour, tumour-draining lymph nodes, and peripheral blood (if you want to know more head to the Theme 1 tab of the Our Projects section!).
