Decoding Immune Dynamics in Tumour, Blood, and Lymph Nodes
Welcome to the Cancer Immunology Irshad Group at King’s College London. We are a translational research group investigating the evolving dynamics of the immune system across the tumour microenvironment, lymph nodes, and blood. Our research focuses on immune escape, biomarker discovery, and the development of personalised immunotherapeutic strategies for patients with aggressive and treatment-resistant cancers. We are also committed to understanding how cancer disparities and systemic stressors influence immune responses, with the aim of creating more equitable and effective cancer care.
Understanding immune surveillance across three interconnected challenges for patients with Breast Cancer
Our Projects
Tumour–immune ecosystem & mechanisms of escape
Clinical trials & immune-informed therapies
Immune diversity & cancer inequity
“There’s growing recognition of how ancestry and environmental exposures shape tumor biology. Yet our understanding remains incomplete. This is a rare opportunity to create real change and reduce ethnic disparities in cancer outcomes.”
