Congratulations to Professor Sheeba Irshad

KCL’s best PI has been promoted to Professor!

Professor Irshad delivered a fantastic inaugural talk titled ‘Encounters that endure’, she reflected on moments and relationships that influenced her journey as a clinician scientist from early lessons in care and compassion to the collaborations and discoveries that continue to shape her work.

‘Encounters that endure’ explored what it means to work at the interface of science and care and how the trust, persistence and imagination we share with others make research not only possible, but deeply human.

Her talk was followed by Shaihan Malik’s inaugural in which he shared glimpses of his journey as a Imaging Physicist from his undergraduate degree at Cambridge to his postdoctoral research at Imperial and transfer to King’s where he eventually became Head of the Imaging Physics & Engineering Research Department in 2024.

Warmest congratulations to both! You are the living definitions of what makes science exciting!
