His Majesty the King at King’s

Members of the team were honoured to take part in His Majesty The King’s visit to the Innovation Hub at Guy’s Cancer Centre, held as part of the celebrations marking the 300th anniversary of Guy’s Hospital. The visit provided an opportunity to showcase the innovative cancer research being conducted across King’s College London and its clinical partners. During the event, His Majesty met with researchers and staff working to advance cancer diagnosis, treatment, and patient care. His genuine interest in both the scientific research and the people behind it created a welcoming and engaging atmosphere throughout the visit.

A particular highlight was seeing our early career researchers Esme Carpenter and Helen Kakkassery present their work, speaking with confidence and enthusiasm about their research, demonstrating both the scientific excellence and commitment that characterise the next generation of cancer researchers. Their contributions reflected the breadth of innovation taking place within the cancer research community and highlighted the importance of supporting emerging talent in the field. The visit was a memorable occasion for everyone involved and a valuable opportunity to celebrate the impact of cancer research while recognising the long-standing history and continued legacy of Guy’s Hospital.
